Manifestation Monday! Good morning and happy Monday y’all!It’s the start of a new week and I couldn’t think of a better way to kick it off than reflecting on some special memories of things that were once dreams that are now a reality. This week, I am going to highlight living in Bend, Oregon as my “Manifestation Monday” topic du jour. I came to Bend looking for fresh air, freedom and if I’m being honest… more FUN! I got that and then some! If you want to read about how I got here, read on. If you already know what makes Bend so magical, then let me know what you love so much about this Pacific Wonderland!💕🏔️My Bend Origin Story🏔️💕I started coming to central Oregon as a little girl (as early as two years old!) Every year my family would make the trek over Santiam Pass from Portland (or Seattle depending on where we were living), to Black Butte Ranch. Those weeks were full of riding bikes, swimming, staying up too late and watching the stars from the golf course. These memories stuck with me and that’s when my love affair started with the High Desert climate. I loved the piney smell of juniper and the sweet dust. The freezing cold nights and 90+ degree days. The mountains and the sage brush and the wildlife. The fact you could seem to see all the stars in the sky on a clear night. I knew from that point I wanted to have a house in Central Oregon some day. As I went through the phases of growing into adulthood, it seemed as if my career in tech sales and leadership didn’t necessarily align with living in Bend and working remote was not a common scenario yet. In the spring of 2020, I was living in the Pearl District and needed out. I felt suffocated, lonely, scared (like many of us during this dark time). I knew I needed to go East. To make the jump. To clear my mind and my heart and go toward a long time dream I held tight and also kept at a distance. Coincidentally, I was also in the process of starting CloudWerx and since the world was shut down, it didn’t matter where I lived, everything was done on zoom and Google Meet. I took this chance to sell most of what I owned, pack up my car and move to Bend.Now, almost 4 year later, I can say it was one of the best decisions I’ve made (probably third to getting Duke and starting CloudWerx). I came looking for fresh air, freedom, fun. I found so much more. I’ve made incredible friends, had many adventures and truly feel like I found my “home.”While living in Bend (a relatively small town), can make business travel challenging, it’s worth it. And all the folks at the airport know me by name now 😉.There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t pinch myself that I made this happen. Every sunrise, every sunset. Every hike.
