They came to Fort Lauderdale on their honeymoon in 1954 and never left. They have been residents of Coral Ridge ever since and were charter members of Coral Ridge Country Club. Dick founded "Fast and Company" Insurance which he grew into the largest independent agency in Florida.

After retiring from the insurance business, Dick remained active in real estate, playing tennis with his friends, enjoying the lake homes he in Windermere, FL and Inman, SC and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Dick is predeceased by son, Christopher and sister, Janet. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara; daughters, Debbie Fast Hillstrom, Carrie Fast (Walter Wood), of Melbourne, FL; son, Richard Fast, Jr. (Jeffrey Whitridge) of Ashville, NC; and brother, Robert Fast of Fostoria, OH. He is also survived by grandchildren, Lindsay Ryan Hillstrom and Jamie Walker Wood.

77, a native of Davie, FL died Monday, January 15, 2007, at his winter home in Ocala, FL. Dickie, born and raised in Davie, FL was recognized as a "Pioneer" by the Board of Commissioners and the Historical Commission of Broward County for his many contributions to the growth and development of the Davie area. Throughout his life, Dickie was involved in many civic organizations. He served as a Town Commissioner of Davie, was a distinguished member of Kiwanis Club and Hall of Fame recipient of Broward Florida Nurserymen and Growers Association. He, along with his brothers formed and operated Griffin Brothers where Dickie served as President.

On behalf of Griffin Brothers, he accepted and was honored 4 times at the White House in Washington, DC for landscape installation and beautification awards in Dade and Broward County. He was a founding parishioner of Saint David Catholic Church in Davie. Dickie was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Nancy A. Olivet Griffin; sister, Anna Elida Griffin Hammer; brothers, Harry John Griffin, Carl Edward Griffin, Gerald Joseph Griffin and grandson, Garrett Wade Griffin. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Dunlevy Griffin; sons, Richard, Danny, Tim, Jim, Jeff Griffin, and David Dunlevy; daughters, Pam Griffin, Nancy Griffin, Lamfers, Janet Griffin Forbes and Ann Dunlevy; 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Alfred D.

Born in 1921 in Brownsville, PA. then moving to So. Florida after World War where he lived until he moved to Eustis in Central Florida in 2001.

Joe, a loving family man, predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary Hudack Hutlas, and his beloved brother, Bernard Hutlas. He leaves behind his best friend and loving wife, Harolynn Lanza Hutlas; nephews, Brett and Eric Hutlas; Harolynn's children, Joseph Lanza and Eileen Hoff; grandnieces, Danielle and Erica Hutlas and step-grandchildren, Kara and DJ Hoff. Joe had a fascinating life and diverse skills and interests. Working with his grandparents and uncles on their family farm in the foothills of Pennsylvania as a boy and continued to do so in his adult years, which left him with a life long love for the outdoors and a wonderful talent for gardening. In 1942, Joe worked as an engineering surveyor with the U.S.

Dept. of Transportation, where he supervised a survey team in the planning and building of the Alaskan Highway. In 1944 Joe joined the US Army Air Corps and fought for this country in World War II as part of a bomber crew. This was the beginning of his life long interest in aviation. After the war he became a member of the US Air Force Reserves until 1952.

Joe changed his career direction after studying and becoming certified in Radiology Technology in the fifties. He became the head of Radiology services for Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami for many years and then worked for Broward General Medical Center in Ft. Laud. As Director of Radiology Services from 1961 until he retired in 1987. Joe was very respected as an expert in his field and was known as an excellent leader.

Joe enjoyed life to the fullest and was known for his keen sense of humor. He was a world traveler, traveling to all parts of Europe, Asia, South America, Canada, and throughout the United States. Although, Joe enjoyed everywhere he traveled the place he loved most, and where he found the most peace and joy, was Jackson Hole, wyoming and the Grand Teton Range, living there part time for several years and becoming a true western cowboy. Joe died peacefully in his home in Eustis, FL after a long illness, with Harolynn and his beloved dog, Maggie at his side. He will be greatly missed by them and the rest of his family and many friends.

Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 19th, at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home 718 So. Federal Hwy. Ft. Laud: Graveside service will be held Sat.

Jan. 20th at at Southern Memorial Park in North Miami. Paul served his country in the US Air Force for 13 years and upon his honorable discharge became a resident of South Florida in 1966. He worked for 40 years in the aviation industry, which included BF Goodrich, Aero Systems, Eastern Airlines, and High-Tech Avionics. Here he raised his family with his first wife, Peggy until her passing on December 12, 1999. During the twilight years of his life he embraced matrimony again as he is survived by his loving wife, Debbie; his sisters, Mary and Carol; his five children, Paul Eugene Joel Andrew, Raymond Bruce, Tammy Sue Dell, Robert Michael; and his twelve grandchildren, Amanda, Heather, Christopher, Kristen, Jessica, Andrew, Albert, Rose, Robert, James, Stephen, and Jeremiah. During his life's journey he made many friends along the way, being a loving person with his children and grandchildren, and always guiding and supporting their needs.

He is survived by his life partner, John Sorrell; sister, Diane Gorman; dear friends, Jack Jensen and Jerry Xavier; many friends and family. He will be remembered as a loving man, with a dry sense of humor, and a deep concern for the well being of others. A memorial service will be announced at a future date.
