About The RoleAs the Director of an established team of 13 legal entity accountants, you will play a pivotal role in steering and elevating our global financial operations. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the timely and accurate filing of statutory financial statements across all countries outside the United States, adhering meticulously to local requirements. Your responsibilities encompass a spectrum of critical tasks, ranging from compliance management to strategic collaboration with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of 13 legal entity accountants, fostering an environment of collaboration and excellence to drive the overall goals of the team.
• Statutory Compliance: Take charge of ensuring the accurate and punctual filing of statutory financial statements for all non-US entities, meticulously aligning with local regulations and requirements.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously monitor reporting requirements for non-US entities to maintain compliance within the Workday framework.
• Auditor and Advisor Liaison: Collaborate closely with auditors and external advisors to ensure timely and accurate compliance with local reporting requirements.
• Transparency and Communication: Regularly communicate the results of non-US legal entities to the CAO and other stakeholders, promoting transparency and understanding of legal entity activities.
• Controllership Model Establishment: Establish a robust controllership model in collaboration with the Senior Director, International Controller - Strategic Project Enablement and Management, ensuring accountability and comprehension of intercompany agreements, VAT filings, tax filings, and other relevant matters.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a key liaison with various departments including Legal, Tax, Corporate Accounting, CAO peers, WOW, FP&A, and external auditors, influencing and partnering effectively to achieve organizational objectives.
• Strategic Projects and Innovation: Collaborate with the Senior Director, International Controller - Strategic Project Enablement and Management on driving forward special projects and innovations such as alternative ledger currency implementation, ESG compliance disclosures, and other cross-functional initiatives.
• Career Development: Provide mentorship, guidance, and career development opportunities for members of the international accounting team, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
• External Representation: Support local EMEA/APJ sales and marketing teams by representing Workday to customers and external parties, contributing to the company's reputation and growth.

About YouThe ideal candidate is a self-starter, a great communicator and enjoys collaborating with people with a diverse set of talents, in a dynamic fast-paced Shared Services Centre environment.

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years operational accounting experience (audit experience is a plus)
• Qualified chartered accountant or equivalent
• Leadership experience - Leading teams of 10+ direct reports
• Stong technical accounting knowledge in IFRS
• Proven experience successfully managing simultaneous multi country audits

Other Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of international compliance and statutory reporting in multiple countries GAAP’s including US GAAP
• Reporting to a US multinational company a plus
• Proven history of managing to and achieving deadlines
• History of innovation of processes using various types of technology to make process more efficient and less manual
• Detailed, analytical and is inspired to improve accounting and related processes.
